ICCF World Cup XIII - Announcement ICCF World Cup XIII

The International Correspondence Chess Federation is delighted to announce that the Austrian Correspondence Chess Federation will be the main organizer of the next ICCF World Cup Tournament and all chess players are invited to enter. It will be possible to make multiple entries.The tournament will be played in three stages, with separate postal and Email groups in the Preliminary stage, which will be started in December 2002 at latest.Preliminary Groups will all have 11 players, each with one game against each other player in the group, with the winners of each group qualifying for the Semi-final stage.Other qualifications will depend on the number of entries for the preliminary stage. Any tie breaking, necessary to decide qualification to the next phases, will be done in accordance with ICCF rules, principally by use of the Sonneborn-Berger method.Arrangements for the Semi-final/Final stages will be announced later, depending on the total number of entries and the preferred playing method of those entering the preliminaries. Allocation of players to the preliminary and semi-final groups will be made randomly, but geographical distribution, as well as an achievement of reasonable equality of the average rating, will be taken into account. In addition, those players who qualified for World Cup XI and XII Finals will also be entitled to play in the semi-final stages of World Cup XIII and the winners of finals XI and XII will be eligible to participate in World Cup Final XIII.Although the number of preliminary groups for each player is unlimited, no player will be able to qualify for more than two semi-final groups or for more than one place in the final.Winners of preliminary and semi-final groups will receive book prizes. A cash prize of 1000 Swiss Francs will be awarded to the winner of World Cup XIII, with a Trophy and gold medal, with prizes of 600 Swiss Francs to the silver medallist and 400 Swiss Francs to the bronze medallist. The following qualifications can be achieved in the Final:the winner of the World Cup Final XIII will qualify for the final of the next World Cup tournament and will gain the IM title. the IM title will also be awarded to any players who achieve an IM result according to §53d of the ICCF Rules of Play. all participants in the final will qualify for the semi-final of the next World Cup tournament, provided that they do not withdraw. the first and the second placed players in the final will qualify for the ¾ - final of the next World CC Championshipall participants in the final who score at least 60% of the possible number of points, will qualify for the semi-final of the next World CC Championship.The Austrian Correspondence Chess Federation has appointedGerhard RadoszticsSauboden 10A-9543 ARRIACH, AUSTRIAeMail: radoiccf@aon.atPhone: +43-3326-52523Fax: +43-3322-427454as the Central Tournament Leader (CTL) of this tournament. He will be assisted by a team of tournament directors. The appeal instance is the ICCF Appeals Commission.Entries (to include the ID-number from the ICCF rating system, name, address and Email address) should be submitted via national CC federations. Direct entries via iccf.com will be accepted from new players who have not participated in ICCF tournaments previously - with a maximum of two sections, applying to direct entrants.Entry fees will be equivalent approximately to 15 Swiss Francs in national currencies per section; with the total fees to be settled by national correspondence chess federations with ICCF in the framework of their Year 2002 Statement of Account at 31st of December 2002. The Direct Entry fee for those eligible will be US$ 30.Applications via national correspondence chess federations, must reach the CTL no later than 31st of August 2002, preferably by Email. We ask that first applications be by 1st May, and thereafter on a monthly basis. The preliminary groups should start in December 2002 at latest. donc  On est pas obliger d'etre inscrit a l'ajec.Pour participer a la coupe du monde.


C'est exact, à la condition expresse de ne pas jouer un autre tournoi ICCF. En effet, les Français non Ajec peuvent participer à une seule compétition ICCF. La deuxième demandée sans être AJEC leur est systématiquement refusée.


Autre chose... Il est possible que l'inscription pour un Ajéciste à la coupe du monde soit prise à 50% par l'Ajec... (en projet)
